Hi, my name is Lynne Guey. It’s nice to meet you.
I hail from Florida, a place warm enough to burn a hole in your heart. A big smile usually patches it right back up though. =)
My formal education ended in May 2011 with a paper bearing an official University of Florida paper emblem and a degree in reporting the news. Apparently it was time to show the world what I had. But first, I wanted to see what the world could show me.
After graduation, I put aside the ‘roving reporter’ title and took on a number of random projects: working at a Chinese take-out restaurant, practicing Mandarin, becoming a certified kickboxing instructor, writing a letter a day, and planning a trip through Europe. For the latter, I spent 3 months teaching English in Italy to fund my travels. This experience greatly colored my perspective, implanting an even greater thirst for learning about little pockets of the world and sharing stories.
And now…
I’m ready. I’m ready to tell stories, to contribute to the rapidly changing landscapes of society, to connect with the world.
I can write, make videos, travel, speak Chinese, and eat up a storm. If these are talents you’re looking for, my contact info is below. My mantra is to try everything once; I will never back away from a challenge.
Learning about those around me, and what binds us together as humans captivates my interest. That’s what this blog is for.
